It’s been revealed that Apple has signed a deal to acquire motion sensory company PrimeSense.
PrimeSense, founded in Israel specialises in motion detection technologies. Their products have the ability to identify the difference between people and objects as well as process images of objects, proportions, gestures and movements. The company’s biggest claim is within the Microsoft Kinect sensor.
The acquisition suggests motion sensory technologies are on their way to Apple products, and rumours are beginning to spread with specific reference to Apple TV. Apple hasn’t made any official comments on their new purchase, although they did register a patent in late 2011 copyrighting an idea that controls devices without any physical contact.
Taking on a company specialising in such specific technology is a sign that touch less control of Apple devices is on its way.
