On Tuesday Apple and IBM announced an exclusive deal in which IBM will build a new line of enterprise-spec apps for Apple’s iOS, aimed at companies in retail, health care, transportation and other industries. A copy of which can be read HERE.
IBM will create “unique cloud services” for iOS, including tools for security, analytics and device management. In addition IBM will sell Apple’s products to its own enterprise customers, supported by IBM services, solutions, support and software.
Meanwhile, Apple will offer new AppleCare Warranty services for enterprise customers that include 24-hour assistance and on-site support.
Apple devices are widely used within corporate organisations but has not yet been a renegade in the corporate world. This deal could provide a significant boost for Apple in the corporate sector, potentially leading to increased wide-scale deployment of Apple products among workers.
