A recent study suggests that up to 60% of online traffic isn’t being dictated by human activity, and that three out of five online activities are in fact being controlled by bots.
The overall figure of humans vs. robots has increased 10% over the last year. This huge percentage however isn’t all bad, the biggest growth rate is being seen in good bots, used to gather analytics and feedback for websites and online services. The growth in good bots has risen by over 50% since last year, as well as a drop of 10% being seen in hacking tools that are used to spread malware, steal data and hack websites.
The figures, although increasing at a rapid rate appear to be growing in the right places, with websites and companies using bots as a positive resource for improving online experiences.
