Dell has added to its security and management repertoire by buying endpoint encryption company Credant Technologies.
The Texan based company has worked in partnership with Dell for many years. Many Dell protection and encryption products have credant’s technologies embedded. Now all Dell PCs will have the technology engineered into them.
This move will improve Dells already rated security features and status in the industry. Latitude, OptiPlex and Precision are just some of the ranges that will be soon be ranked among the world’s most secure computers.
This new acquisition adds to Dells catalogue of security and management software. Earlier this year Dell actioned the purchase of Quest Software; security, consulting and research provider SecureWorks and unified threat management company SonicWALL.
Quest allows organisations to manage identities across numerous applications, administer servers and databases as well as back up and recover information.
Dell will now be able to offer a range of security options based on its own technologies.
