As of today mobile network operator EE has doubled the speed of it’s 4G networks in 12 cities across the United Kingdom, including Bristol!
The other cities to receive the improved 4G services are Cardiff, London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Derby, Glasgow and Edinburgh. The increased speeds have the potential to reach up to 150Mbps, although it’s more realistic to see these speeds average out at approximately 30Mbps.
EE aims to provide 98% of the UK with 4G coverage by 2015. The roll out of the service and the improved speeds are dependent on factors including mast locations, quality and the customer demand in that area.
