Microsoft Removes Fake Google Apps from Windows Store

Microsoft has removed a number of Google apps from their Windows Store after discovering that they were fake.

A number of Google apps including Maps, Voice and Hangouts became available in the mobile’s online app store last week before being identified as fake. The dodgy developers, named ‘Google, Inc’ charged $1.99 per app before being removed from download by Microsoft. Genuine Google developers, ‘Google Inc’ only have one app available in the Windows Phone Store, the simple search application.

Microsoft has removed the fake apps and reassured users that all developers are briefed on the rules and laws surrounding app development, infringements and copyright when signing up to use any Windows Store.
