A new app available on iOS and OS X that allows a user to unlock their Mac using their iPhone has been released by developers at Knock Software. The user simply taps on their iPhone to unlock their Macbook, iMac or Mac Mini.
In order for the app(s) to work, the compatible app must be installed on both devices and then those specific devices paired. Another security feature of the app is that the devices must be near each other to work – you can’t unlock your MacBook by accidentally knocking your iPhone in your pocket whilst at the shops when your computer is at home.
The Knock app is available in the Apple App Store.
