Today Microsoft has announced that Office will become available on iOS.
The program will be a free downloadable app for iPhones and iPads, available in the Apple App Store. The user must already have a valid subscription to Office 365 which is available on monthly subscription direct from Microsoft for as little as £8.40 a month. Office 365 gives access to Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, OneNote, Access, PowerPoint and Lync.
The mobile app will allow users to view and edit Word, PowerPoint and Excel files on their iOS device. The programs have been optimised for smaller screens with features to make it easier to resume to the same point in a document as when it was left as well as a slide navigator panel for easy viewing of PowerPoint presentations.
Microsoft have made no comments on if they will be releasing an Android version of the app.
