Cloud service provider Rackspace has announced the recent acquisition of DBaaS (Database as a Service) platform ObjectRocket. The addition means Rackspace will soon be able to offer services such as NoSQL (Not Only SQL).
The partnership will provide database management and design crafted especially to handle large amounts of data in a scalable solution. The service also offers synchronisation and replication of data between servers for failover and redundancy.
Offering OpenStack will give RackSpace a solid footing in the NoSQL scene, a market that is due to increase in revenue by up to 82% over the next couple of years, aiding their cloud portfolio considerably.
