Akamai Technologies have recently published a report stating which countries in the World have the fastest internet connections. The data was compiled by looking at the traffic that flowed through Akamai’s global network from July 2013 to September 2013.
- Hong Kong
- South Korea
- United Arab Emirates
- Czech Republic
Nearly all of the major Asia-Pacific markets improved their internet connection speeds by 12% compared with the previous year. Asia is utilising their high speed connections with Singapore, Japan and South Korea among the top five countries in the World with the highest mobile-broadband penetration in 2012 (according to a report from the International Telecommunication Union).
Israel has jumped to fifth place with a 55% improvement compared to the same period in 2012. This could be linked to the countries increased number of tech start-ups.
